As per the title?

Was building the stadium under Moshiri a good idea? You could say we had delayed enough and were only falling further behind at Goodison.

Or was it poorly timed without the concrete funding guarantee it required (Sanctions on Russian oligarchs had been talked about long before the Ukraine war).

Knowing our luck 777 will ship the Everton franchise to the staes and sell Bramley Moore to the rs for a knock down price :(

Alternatively, Moshiri adds a clause that he can take anything not tied down in the sale & borrows Usmanov's yacht & tows it to Sochi when it's built!

Obviously the fanbase is going to want it 100 times out of a 100 but knowing what we now know about the finances there is absolutely no way in hell the board should’ve even entertained the thought

Why would they be interested in a ground that’s smaller than theirs, when they’ve spent almost as much as BMD cost to redevelop their own ground? Let alone the fact the fans would be in absolute uproar at leaving Anfield?

I've never really understood the new stadium tbh. We're spending ~ £750 million in order to generate an extra £10 million per season, so won't even pay that investment back for another 75 years. It's madness.

Couple that with the fact that even after spending such a huge sum, we'll still be left with a stadium that has a lower capacity than practically all of the teams who we're trying to make up ground on.

Not having a go at you but it’s really, really odd that people keep bringing up the ground being sold to that lot

As for the topic, the build shouldn’t have started until it was fully funded, the fact that it’s half done and we’re still struggling to pay to keep it running is utter insanity

Once that dock was drained and filled in the warning signs came. It was at that point the land should have been turned in to a public park and viewing point and sat on until the time and finances were right. Many on here questioned the feasibility of pushing ahead with it at the time.
