When you bide that time and you eventually get what you want, the rewards far outweigh what you'd have got if you'd have gone for it on the 1st date.

we should get some bricks and spray them gold then arrange to be seen sneaking them into finch farm at midnight
then other clubs will think we've invested in bullion to guard against the brexit financial shock and not try and take us for mugs for all the cash they don't know we still have

plus they may think we know something they don't (ie the bottom is about to fall out the league money wise) and start panic selling players on the cheap
