This is just awful. Words have consequences. I wish I could say I was surprised, but I've feared this happening for a while now. The right wing in this country needs to do some soul searching about the way they approach politics nowadays.

I don't like the Tea Party and Glenn Beck as much as the next rational person but I don't think pinning the act of a clear lunatic on them is fair game here to be honest.

It's a tragedy, a real tragedy and people have lost their lives to the evil acts of one person.

A man was arrested after the shooting at a supermarket in Tucson where Ms Giffords was meeting constituents.


An attack on democracy this shooting.

It's not bollocks. Sharron Angle, candidate for the Senate in Nevada this year, told her supporters at an event earlier this year that it may be necessary for "second amendment remedies" to solve political problems. The 2nd amendment is the right to own a weapon. You tell me if that's appropriate considering what happened today.
