A lot of people have said on here how poor he is. I completely disagree- hes a decent winger and offers us something different.
Like what?
His only advantage over Coleman would be pace (where a difference will decrease soon) and experience, but Coleman wages are probably 5-8 times lower, he has as good wokrate as SWP and and has a better final ball.

He's like Theo Walcott was a few years ago; all pace, no end product. Except he doesn't have the excuse of being 12.
Are you suggesting that right now Theo Walcott has any end product? For sure not when he is asked to put a decent cross or a through ball from the wing.

The good SWP disappeared ages ago.

He musn't have stuck around for long, either. I certainly missed him!

Walcott was ace at the start of this season, and then got injured. But he showed that he's learned how to finish. He's improving mate, that's the point. SWP is old, and not going to get any better.

Walcott was always a decent finisher, yet he's still miserable than when he is asked to play as a winger against a team who defends deep, as he is poor tactically, doesn't do well in tight spaces and his final (non finishing) ball is still shocking. He's just like all English pace merchants, except for the fact that he's better suited for a CF than winger role, which makes him a good option off the bench when opposite's team is vulnerable on the counter.

Of course he is a part of Arsenal football club, which makes him a Wonder Kid for pundits despite poor performances and not progressing enough, comparing to his hype and price Arsenal paid for him a few years ago.

Honestly, if Chris Eagles is still with Burnley (and we can't afford players like Lee or Jarvis) I would gladly take him over SWP.

Okay mate, you're quite right, but you're going off on a tangent.

I drew comparisons to Walcott, because he's similar to SWP. And not in a good way. Pace? Yes. End product? No. I wouldn't want SWP anywhere near our team, to be honest. Unless he was free.

Wages aside- he can take players on and beat them with skill not just pace. He's gone a bit stale and I think he could be a decent addition.

I dont think his final ball is shocking- I actually think hes a decent winger that has gone a bit stale and could get his form back with us. Coleman into right back with SWP in front of him.

That would never happen, anyway. Moyes won't play Coleman at RB, unless Hibbo, Neville and maybe even Jags, were injured. He's a defense/experience > positivity kind of guy, after all. Even when said experienced defenders aren't actually that much better than the young ones (i.e Hibbo getting ripped apart against West Brom).

LCAB says he's off to Liverpool. Happy with that.

We do need a winger though. But preferably a good one!

Moyes making overtures toward Donovan, Beckham, AND SWP... I'd say he thinks we need a right winger too... (though in all honesty, I liked what I've seen from Coleman there more than I expected).

SWP wouldn't be the worst signing, but I don't think Everton would get value out of him considering the cost.

Would rather have Adabayor.. Make it happen Moyes.!!

SWP is crap...He's never been the same since he left Citeh for Chelsea...And all this talk of Beckham..I have hudge respect Beckham and is a great Pro..but shouldn't we be looking at younger players..If we can't afford big names..why not dip into the championship ..There is plenty of pace in that league would be worth a go..there has to be another timmy cahill in there somewhere...
