Player Valuation: £1m
With all of our obvious issues this season with goalscoring and with money, a lower division gem may be just what we need to find our man. He knocked us out of the cup this year with a fantastic display and he knocked the RS out last year. He's an international with a dozen caps already. I rate him as a top class player and for 6 million pounds he could be a great bargain.

Why not, Moyes is good at unearthing gems and with not a lot of money knocking about he may be good. I would think another experienced striker like Keane or Klose would be needed as well.

If he costs money forget it we have nothing in the pot and whatever comes in will be going down the black hole as usual

Again, with the money we'll get from selling deadwood (i.e. Yak, Yobo) we should aim as high as possible.

If not, he'd be welcome.

Just not up front on his own with zilch support.

There are so many decent free transfers knocking about, we might pick up a couple of decent players. We need to raise cash by selling the deadwood rather than the quality players we have got.

Good player. Isn't the tallest striker out there but tracks the ball well in the air.

Ideally, you'd like him to be paired with another striker, imo. Not sure that is happening here.

This was his breakout season, but he had quite a few runouts when Reading were in the Premiership, mostly late match sub-ins to chase down balls and apply pressure to the opponent's back line.

I actually saw him score his first international goal against Bolivia in Boston.

The chances are he is better than what we've got. There has been a lot of rumours knocking about regarding Klose as well.

If we could get Long for 6 milion, and then get Elmander or Klose on a free transfer (Elmander is more likely), I would be glad with our strike force next year. I heard a rumor that Yak has already been sold to Leicester for 2.5M, that and Yobo's fee would already be enough for Long.

A player i would love for us to sign , something i would not have said this time last year , but he has come on leaps and bounds , been brilliant for both club and country all year , he has good pace and a great work ethic , would fit in well , and is also still at an age where he could further improve as a player if we were to sign him .

Not getting my hopes up though , just so it wont hurt as much when he joins Newcastle or the RS .

Long and Elmander would be a quality strike partnership to replace Yak and Vaughan. Throw Larsson and Vaughan in there and all we need is a winger!

Not for me to be honest, hes come on a lot, but not ready to take on the huge responsiblity of leading a line in the PL.

I think it would be a kind of a Johnson situation with long balls over the top if we got him.

Lets not discount Beckford here either, 9 goals in his first season isnt a bad return for his minutes on the pitch, a year under his belt he could step up.

I have other better ideas the Long if im honest.
