Shane Duffy

he would have to have come on bundle this year to get my vote, sell him and alcaraz and get lescott back

He might get a crack next season with Europe, depends if Martinez rates him. As we can see Stones is his type of defender, what type is duffy? is he good on the ball? is he a good passer?

I believe he's the opposite if anything. Not the quickest but tall, strong, good in the air etc... I think his passing was highlighted as one of his weaker points though. Well done to him anyway, and I hope he's got a future back at Everton.

Apparently Blackpool & Burnley want to take him on loan next season.

Personally I'd allow him to go out on loan to Burnley for a season in hope he gets regular games in prem so we can see how he copes with it and develops?!

I know we've seen him show promise in a number of games but I think it would be good to see him go to a club like Burnley where it's possible he'll get a good run of games and see how he handles being in a struggling team in the top flight, how he reacts to dips in form etc.

Think a move like that would be great for his development.

If Burnley want him and can give him first team football then that could be great. If, on the other hand, they just want him as a squad player then he's best in the Championship for another year I think.

Tbh we should just sell him. Pointless sending him out on loan season after season. Never going to be a top premier league defender for a top 6 side. Leicester would be good move for him. Could get a mill or 2 for him.

With the extra games he'll be needed..as will the others out on loan. Duffy has played EL football before.

I think that's what we'll see in the summer: minimal spending on the squad and deepening it with recalls like Duffy, Kennedy, Long, Lundstram etc.

Doesn't make sense to loan him out again. We know he's good and so does everyone else. He should stay with us, he gives us something the other CBs don't and given our record with injuries he will probably get plenty of game time and that's not even accounting for Europe.

I don't know. Even if he was to get 10-15 games out of them and a go in the cup that's still progress for him based on last season. Shane won't be on big money so there's a decent chance Burnley would be paying his full wage. It's no risk for us, good for him and gives us a chance to see if what he's got is good enough for the Premier League.

My own opinion is that it might be. Players like Hangeland, Williamson and their types have made careers in this league. He might never make it to 1st name on the sheet but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for him.

I would not have minded if he was on Dzeko when the ball was crosed for City´s second.

With a goalie utterly averse to leaving his line, we need at least one centre half who is 6ft4 / 1.94m and who will clear the high ball.

He is a valuable option in either box.

Dropped points vs Liverpool home and Chelski away?

Tbf one was lucky to have been a footballer at any level and one was unlucky to have never played for a top 6 club.
