Top news. Sounds like he's been dying to go out on loan for a while now. Hopefully he can grab the opportunity with both hands.

Might be a slight exaggeration on my behalf, but i've seen him easily 15-20 out before (Considering the only ever togger players i've seen where Sterling and Barkley, its not that good!), haven't seen him for a while though, maybe he's knuckled down a bit!

you sound like a bit of a stalker to me barneygrumble...:P

Hahaha, Sorry Bri,
Sorry to come across as a bit of a dick (and alcoholic), but that's students, to be fair he's a top lad, I remember going out like 2 years ago after a game, after he'd just played, and he beat us into town!
But i'd love him to make it to be fair, any player who's nice enough to have a chat to the fans in his own time, is good enough for me... Good luck Shane!

if Duffy really out about in town that often? If so, if might explain why he hasn't had a decent run in the team sooner

no mate we havent seen him in the side because he isnt good enough to play for everton and never will be IMO. Championship player, best we can hope for is one of the other Champ sides think hes decent and get a couple of mill for him

Andy.
I don't think you can say that about Shane Duffy yet.
He is still a very young lad, probably ten years away from being at his very peak. He has suffered from that severe injury a few years ago and subsequently from a lack of first team games last year.
However,if he can get a good run of games and performs well in those and continues to improve there may very well be a future for him at Everton. If he plays competitive football every week all aspects of his game will improve.
Look at Jagielka, Vidic they are known as defenders first ,footballers second and both are at the top in premiership and international football.
Shane Duffy needs to be an outstanding defender at this level within a short time,if he does this then he can have a long premiership career ahead of him.

nah...hes a centre back, hes still got time to come good yet, although this will be an important loan for him

i can tbh, its not like hes been at the club for 10 minutes hes been here a while now.

Martinez sees him every day in training and hes not even been close to the CO cup side. That confirms everything i think about him. Martinez doesnt think hes good enough.

Whether there is a YET after that sentence is up to duffy but it sounds to me like he needs to concentrate on footy and not hanging round concert square.

Who the [Poor language removed] goes to concert square anyway? Its full of blerts and tramps

why are people talking about centre backs like they are goalkeepers and dont hit form till they are 30?

Complete 5hite.

no-one has said 30 have they?! every time he has played he has done ok, give him a loan and see how he does...writing off a centre back at 21 is crazy, especially one with duffys physical attributes

I'm with you mate.

He's 21, looked decent whenever he has been given the chance. He's been pushed down the pecking order a bit with Stones showing so much promise so a loan for him makes perfect sense.

A few other should follow suit.
