He is self taught on the Uke and has been doing many cover songs. I'm trying to convince him to go on a talent show (even though they're all crap) but I think he deserves to be heard.

Mate you gotta qualify that ****.

He needs to lose a couple of pounds, get some kind of funkier hairstyle, clothes.

He's got the voice, he's got the skills, but with a little bit of zing he could make it.

To be honest, it's probably because he hasn't got some sob sorry that they can market to viewers. Apparently there's been amazing singers turned away because they were "too normal"....this is for the Voice Australia mind you. Everyone can tell this is the case when 90% of the contestants have some harrowing tear-jerking story that makes you want to watch them. It's all about the viewers empathising just to tune in again.
 
First of all that fb vid looks like it's dubbed and you don't actually see him playing anything.

But the soundcloud stuff sounds good so if he's serious don't go on any talent shows. If he's good enough to do well they'll basically own him and what he does. How many talent show acts have done well?

He needs to make a cd/mp3 of his best stuff and send it to every record label and radio station you can think of, and do it live anywhere that'll have him

i think it looks dubbed because he was using two different pieces of software to record the video and audio. But you can tell from his soundcloud that he's legit. I think he needs to drop the uke to be honest.

He's in the process of doing that. He's also studying a double degree of Law and Journalism so he's a bit short for time.

And i agree, talent shows are crap.
