HEY, that's a hall of famer your talking about
Ha ha!
He really was a Hall of Fame player in his day. Absolute monster of a left-back, and stood for no messing around.
Anyone else remember the he sparked that little piece of Scottish amoeba David Speedie? The runt had just piled into one of our players - can't remember who - and got away with it as none of the officials saw it. Everyone on the ground knew Psycho would be after him, and the next thing he sparked him right in front of the Bullens with the play up at the Park End.
I remember what seemed like the entire Bullens rising in ovation together.
Chelsea at home, maybe 86? Deffo a live game in a Sunday. I hated that little snide, and Psycho went even further up in my estimation.
Was there that day in the Bullens, as you say we gave him a great ovation. He was a top class defender, he also covered in the middle of the back four when needed.
I remember that but have it in my head as being 1987. I'm sure I saw some footage of it too a few years ago but can't be sure.Ha ha!
