Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
Something Tx posted in the Felli love in thread prompted me to think about how long it takes to get the best out of players. Arteta didn't really become the player we know and love until his second season. Jagielka looked positively awful when he first arrived. Felli had many doubters in his first season.

Just goes to show that patience can be a virtue.

Well said batman...

Thats why people need to get a grip over Bily. Once again he showed some great touches yesterday and was unlucky not to score. there's somthing in that lad what tells me he's got real quality about him.....

I said it about Fallaini all along. Tecnicaly i think Bily could be better.

Oh an leave off hibbert, he's only had 9 seasons to, he'll come good..:)

Had Bily kept that volley down just slightly it would have taken Givens hands off. He is not afraid to have a go, and when one screamer goes in, he will get a couple more.

Thought we saw the best of Billy yesterday myself. He doesn't have great acceleration (He's pretty fast once he gets going though), so when we pack behind the ball and then win possession he finds it very hard to drive it up the pitch like Pienaar.

However, if he gets the ball in an advanced position he's clearly got by far the best close-control in the team. He's a player that can unlock defences on his own once he doesn't have to run 40 yards to do it.

And holy hell doesn't he have some left foot!?

I think it was Martin O'Neill who recently have said that Villa is one win from the cup and 2 losses from crisis (or maybe vice versa).
That how it goes - no matter if we are talking about fans or pundits, everybody makes radical opinions, black or white, [Poor language removed] or great, etc...
Everybody also has a tendency to forget that players quite aften are not a finished product - they work with coaches on their game, trying to find best spot on the team, trying to find a good understanding with teammates. This is what we saw with Jagielka, what we are seeing now with Fellaini and what he will hopefully see with Bilyaletdinov.

Well said Bruce. There will always be knee jerkers on the interweb who are as flightly as that premenstral ex-girlfriend we all had at some point (you know the one, she was hot but crazy as a box of frogs) and belters at the game who think support is ****ging off our players constantly. Those of us who keep faith in Moyes judgements, remain positive and don't go off half cocked normally end up in the right. (y)

Peanuts took a while to get to his best form, infact wasn't till Arteta got injured, that Pienaar came good
