I've recently enjoyed the quite superb gritty drama of the 'The Wire' and Im looking for my next fix. This is to buy on DVD and in no way download.

On my list so far is:

The Shield
The West Wing
The Sopranos

Maybe all boss dramas must start with 'The' these days.

All suggestions appreciated.

mentioned earlier today

OZ

grim, gritty and a bit another word beginning with 'G'.

lost & heroes have occasional moments.

branson has been pushing 'the sarah connor chronicles', but im not hooked, its a bit [Poor language removed] really.

can i add, to my great detriment that there was a time i watched 'nip tuck'. for a while it punched its weight, and had some decent babes in it, but trash is trash.

its almost a decade old, i dont know if its still running, channel four had the rights, but messed around with the times.

its grim, really grim. all sorts of types of rape and murder and drugs. it really plunges depths.

Lost is alright nowadays, nowt like the first two seasons though. Nip/Tuck was superb in it's first season. Really enjoyed it. That firefighter one with Dennis whach-ya-me-call-it (Irish American bloke, also did the voice for the sabre in Ice Age) in it was really good.

I can't harp on about this enough. Battlestar Galactica is the [Poor language removed]. Suits, d/l the mini-series and the first two proper episodes and give it a chance. You will not be disappointed.

*Edit* Dennis Leary!!! Thanks goes out to my wife, Lisa, for telling me his name after a [Poor language removed] description

That's the thing, it bloody well isn't sci-fi! It is a superb show that happens to be against a back-drop of space. Look at the reviews for the show.

i used to watch it as a kid with the proper cylons (with the kit eyes) and face from the A team. Also, i followed buck rogers (duck dodgers is class too) in the 21st century.

stargate sucked ass. babylon 5 sucked ass. im not admitting to ever being into any star treks, im blaming a lot of my former viewing habits on being too young to know better.

so ha.

I loved Stargate, Deep Space Nine and Star Trek, plus of course Red Dwarf

we cant put the dwarfers in here, thats not to say that craig 'crack pipe' charles "im definitely not a rapist" isnt deserving of much mockery, but at least red dwarf knew it was funny because it tried to be.

lets see you get this one...

righteous
indignation

.

The new BSG is nothing like the old one. Give it a shot, if you like good TV shows then you will love it.

And Red Dwarf will always be in. I have already brainwashed Ethan. He loves sitting down and watching it.
