The Italian league has fallen in the past ten or so years, I think most will agree. But recently I've found myself watching quite a lot of it, and I've got to say there's some great entertainment to be found.

Whilst you say the teams at the very top aren't up to the same level as those in England or Spain, the top 7 or so are absolutely excellent. AC Milan are looking fantastic at the moment (as their dismantling of Arsenal showed) and Juventus are having a cracking season, which is long overdue for them to be fair. On top of that there's quality teams like Lazio, Udinese and Roma all pushing for Europe and that's without even mentioning Inter Milan. They lost again tonight and are having a tough season, but that only adds to the excitement for a neutral.

And of course there's Napoli. They're my favourite 'other' team and they beat Fiorentina 0-3 tonight in style. I reckon they'll do Chelsea good and proper next week, and when you consider that win only takes Napoli up to 6th (temporarily as well) then I think it's fair to say Serie A boasts a lot of quality.

So, any other fans of the league on here? :)

Love the Bundesliga myself. Watching football in Deutschland is ace; cheap tickets, ale on sale all over the ground, bratties before during & after the match, and the atmosphere in the grounds is usually bang on.

Throw in terracing in most top-flight grounds, plus a healthy dollop of stereotypical mulleted or tached up tees with scarves round their wrists and denim jackets with badges all over them, and it's a winner.

I go over for 2 or 3 weekends a season. Went a fortnight ago and saw games at Hoffenheim & Freiburg. Only got 2 grounds left to nail in the top flight.

The German league is another favourite as well mate.

They've got genuine competition there -- just look at how many teams are within touching distance of 1st -- and as you say they've sorted themselves out financially so it's affordable for fans.

Also Dortmund make me sex wee all over the place.

Bung giving,
fraud pen winning,
wannabe kopites
bunch of gob**ites

They'll never ever live down the buying off of the league, and the ref's that should have been beyond reproach, and that those that made the finance available got off, and that that had to be in on it to lose got off too.
A horrendous smear on all of football, up there with 'the black sox'.

Do miss Football Italia on channel 4 though. Awesome theme tune to boot.

Not to be too cliched but whenever i watch Serie A its pretty much always boring, like watching an Everton/Wigan game.

It's a cliché for a reason. That's why I never really used to watch Italian football!

But there's definitely more excitement in there right now. Napoli play 3 at the back ffs.

Thats not very defensive, how are they supposed to keep it tight at the back?????????????????????

Next you're be telling me they are being really really adventurous and playing 2 strikers.

Budesliga & the Dutch leagues are the only ones I like, I guess I'm the RFUS version of footy leagues

Haha.

There's a lot of ace leagues. Despite what Sky tell you, the premier league isn't the only one worth your time.

I think there are more better teams in it than the premier league.

Btw, which Milan club is considered the biggest? I would've said inter but not sure? Are there a lot of glory hunting supporters around Italy who live miles away from Milan?

Also ac Milans tactics were sublime o Wednesday. They managed to defend with numbers then two seconds later they had five on the attack

AC Milan are more successful I think. 2nd most successful in Europe behind Madrid if I recall correctly.

And do you know what, I may agree. The top 9 or 10 teams in Italy are, on the whole, probably better than those in England. Napoli dealt with City quite well in the CL and after seeing AC brush Arsenal aside, you've got to say the argument at least has some merit.

I know this, I don't even have sky sports! I'll be watching the German league on espn

ESPN seem to show a lot of good Euro leagues...

Judging by the logo in the corner of my streams.

Both milans, juve, Napoli, Roma udinese and lazio v manx, rs, arse, spurs, Chelsea and us???

I'm not basing this on any statistic but for me Id feel more confident backing those Italian teams. I think also the lower league sides in la Liga and serie a are stronger. That's why EPL teams never Do well really in the Europa league.

....typos left right and centre, on my birds iPad I hate touch screen!
