Fifa president Sepp Blatter has caused an uproar after saying racisim is not a problem in football and suggesting any incidents on the pitch should be settled with a handshake.

Blatter is without doubt a twit, but I'm reminded of the famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

If some twit is racially insulting someone it reflects much more on the person making the comment than the one receiving it.

I would say actual discrimination is far more damaging than some dumb footballer spouting off. Actions speaking louder than words and all that.
