You UK people tend to live even in cities in your own houses so do you use such services / have alarms in place?
I only have a firealarm as it's obligated by law, but I have a flat anyway so I don't expect that many surprises.
 

Yes. I can see the results. A family member started at a job being a sales rep for such services so had a talk about them today.
 

Most alarms end up costing you more in the long run than the average burglary. Huge tv's can't be put in bags marked swag, and dvd and blueray players are so cheap the average junkie would need a wheelbarrow full to get a notable fix.
Keep your financial and personal documents hidden - hidden well, modern burglary is about car crime and stealing your plastic.
