Second Half Performance

It hurts less and less each year that passes, or I've become numbed or immune to the pain...
Numb mate, that's the word. My mrs who knows nothing about football and comes from a family that don't follow a team came in ten minutes after the final whistle to find me sitting in the same spot I was when the game ended emotionless and she just looked at me and said 'they were bastards to you again weren't they?'.

As said on here earlier, as soon as Barry came on, the intensity all but disappeared, midfield dropped back too much so forwards completely isolated... depressingly familiar!

Think you're all being a little unfair.

Since twenty minutes in against Arsenal, we've looked a different side. I believe they gave their all tonight and I for one enjoyed it. Yes, the result was disappointing but the commitment is exponentially better than just a couple of games ago.

And we mustn't forget that Liverpool, whether we like it or not, are currently a better side than us, but we still managed to keep them at bay for the lion's share of the game.

Under the circumstances, we were just unlucky not to take something away from tonight's game.

For once, I'm not complaining.

I'm sorry but you might need to re-watch that second half, what where the tactics?where was the midfield, where was the attacking intent or even interest in winning the game.

When we've been bad this season, and it's been often, we've easily been amongst the 3 worst sides in the division. The full 90 against Chelsea and the second 45 here, it's been worse than anything Hull or Sunderland have churned out this season.

Standard bottle job rolling over for the big dog.

First half combined with Arsenal shows some improvement though so who knows

Lukaku was fighting his arse off. Wanted things to happen, but his teammates didn't want the same.
Really...respect your opinion but for me he lost 8/10 duels against a defence that physically should not get near him. When under the cosh our "get out" ball simply bounced off him. A goalscorer yes a complete centre forward he is light years away.
