We’ve got 5 points from 7 games, averaging only a goal a game scored, are conceding over 2 goals a game and are playing some of the worst football in the league.

Even if you do love him do you need to defend him constantly

Don’t attack him constantly then moan about people defending him. There’s always going to be two sides to any debate, I’m sorry the internet isn’t the echo chamber you need.

Finished above Villa in 07/08 and 08/09. They must've been spending way more on their squad given who they were signing back then, same for Spurs and perhaps also Newcastle who got relegated in those times.
What about the seasons we finished 17, 15 or 11 or don’t they count?
There are always going to be outliers of over or under performance, but I did say AVERAGE wage during his tenure compared to AVERAGE position.

Why? We finished 12th without deductions last season, why is 17th now good enough? The standards at this club stink and it’s partly there fans fault for coming out with guff like this.
Standards will change when the financial backing and leadership changes.

12th, 17th, 14th, 10th - all much and muchness until real change happens.

18th? Disaster.

When the leadership changes, Dyche will be no more as his job will be done.

Yup. I can live with losing the possession if we’re looking effective and creating chances on the counter. I just don’t see how we can pose enough of a threat without full backs who can actually get up and down the pitch.

Overlapping full backs would be nice to see more often, that's true.

The amount of fast players in the squad is shocking, DCL, Ndiaye, Beto, Lindström? who else in the squad?

Maybe if you actually went to the matches and paid to watch this dross like some of us do, you might understand some peoples gripes.

Nobody is demanding 'sexy football', just not hoofing it long to our isolate cf every game would be nice.
Anyone going now is a masochist.

Hats off to those who do - but until we have proper ownership, people should be going to the match expecting...very little indeed.

Be interested to know what his average was when he'd actually built his own squad, as I'm guessing your numbers include the first 2 1/2 seasons after taking over from Smith when he was just starting to put his stamp on the club.

What was his average finishing spot from 04/05 onwards?

9 seasons, 8 top half, 11th as as worst, 4th as a best. 50p reached as worst 65 as best. 60 combined in total finishes so, averaged between 6th and 7th. 6,66

Averaging 58,34p a season.

We've had some of our best results and performances off % possession like that in the past.

Yeah we may have , but they are our best results because most weeks our results are crap.

Just because we snuck a draw at city away, or beat the rs last season by nicking a goal and hoping the better side doesn’t have their shooting boots on … does not mean you set up like that every week .

Interesting you choose the season we finished 4 sandwiched by 17th and 11th placed finishes to start assessing his performance, but give me a few mins and I’ll work it out for you.

It’s an injury ravaged Newcastle squad that comes here and has us holding on like we’re playing City, and it’s the same every week now.

We’re just in games to spoil.

Injury ravaged? Only Isak and Botman from their strongest lineup missing wasn't it?

Only Tarkowski was playing for us out of our strongest back 4.

Seen his interview this morning

"Making too many mistakes" in the earlier games.
Another gutless jibe at the players as it's never his fault.
Maybe admit you got the line ups and tactics wrong ( especially v Bournemouth)

Can't wait to see the back of this chump.
He's right though.

Dyche can't control mistakes.
