Any thoughts on this one? Apparently a few Foreign owners are calling for it to happen

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15336398.stm

The list of foreign owners are listed below

Aston Villa (Randy Lerner)
Blackburn (Venky's Group)
Chelsea (Roman Abramovich)
Fulham (Mohamed Al Fayed)
Liverpool (Fenway Sports Group)
Manchester United (Glazer family)
Manchester City (Sheikh Mansour)
Sunderland (Ellis Short)
QPR (Tony Fernandes)
*Arsenal's Stan Kroenke is a majority shareholder

Sounds mental to me. I've heard people say it happens and works in America in a few sports, but in the NBA for example, there's 4 parallel league's, if that's the correct terminology? That's different, I've always liked the way that league is run as it's 4 league's on the same level, with the winners going into a conference play off to see who is the overall champion, but to scrap relegation in English football is just mental, right?

What the hell would be the point to all the other leagues then? And how would you decide who goes into which leagues. [Poor language removed] foreign owners. I blame Liverpool for this. I'm not sure why. But I'm sure they had something to do with it. When it comes to wanting the rules changed it's usually something to do with them.

If this did happen, I would hope Kenwrong et al and the fans have the balls to walk away from the relegation-free PL - we would never win it (for all the talk of US-style sport, they would never bring in the complete revenue sharing and wage caps that makes US sport competitive), and the league would turn into a parade of plastic ****itude that makes the current system look positively corinthian by comparison.

Definitely no way. The league would be a far poorer place without the whole promotion/relegation thing. Games between the bottom 15 teams would hold about as much interest as games between the mid-table teams now.

Can't happen as a contract is signed for the promotion play off final at Wembley, amongst other things.

FFS, if you all don't like the way our league operates then take your money elsewhere.

This is sickening really and i bet that the RS are behind it - we have all seen how morally bent they are recently.

It would kill anyone outside the current premier league basically and probably see a huge drop in attendences - i mean most people would know that they can't win the league or even get close to champions league places so why bother - at least people would take the cups seriously. For a dozen temas there season would be dead by Xmas.

It'd be great if one day the UEFA decide that wage caps must happen to stop teams like city doing what they're doing...

Until that happens we'll never see anyone other then Chelsea, City or United win the league. Unless someone throws even more money at it then those 3 teams.

Why ? it isn't an issue of race or nationality, the same applies to Phil Gartside and he's from about 1/2 a mile from me.

Gartside is an alien.

Look at the eyes man, there's no way he's an earthling.

Don't say I haven't warned you when the reebok/mothership rises up from the foundations and casts a long shadow across Lancs

The Reebok mothership left Bolton a long time ago for Indonesia mate, fair play to them for sticking with their hometown team though.
