hey GOT. first time poster here living in wisconsin,USA. been a huge fan of everton having been a goalie and idoling tim howard since a young child. lurked the forums here now for a couple of months and am taking the opportunity now to contribute.

so my question is this. what happens to the scouting now at everton. obviously moyes has his scouts set up at the club, but those wont go along with him correct? will this mean that everton still may have the same targets as before? i always enjoyed moyes' ability to find the hidden gems at bargain prices. basically...how much did MOYES himself actually have to do with potential targets?

cheers guys!

Good question. I'm not sure if we have that information as to who the scouts are, how much responsibility they have and how much Moyes has led them.

As we don't have a director of football, and I'm not even sure if we have a Chief Scout position, I expect Moyes has been fully responsible for most of the transfers & targets over the years.

Basically, we start from scratch with a new manager.

Unless they are working for nothing I am sure we do!

Can't see Moyes' scouts being used by United, they'll have their own network established.

From what has been said today it looks more likely that it will be Moyes on his own pretty much fitting into the current United system. I'd wager the scouts will stay working for Everton.

To be honest though, nobody knows.

The scouts are pretty much the same as any other employee of the club. They are employed by the club (either directly or an a fee basis), so regardless of who is manager, they will still work for Everton. Of course, if Moyes or any other manager makes them an offer, they can up sticks and scout for a different club. Same as any other employee/contractor of the club.

from what ive heard over the years from twitter and forums moyes has been heavily involved in scouting to the point that he was basically the chief scout. could be wrong though.
