Pahaha!

[Poor language removed] Scotland. You care far more about us than we do about you. We can't even be bothered hating you. You're just 'there' snapping at our heels like a little terrier. Its kind of annoying but also kinda cute at the same time.

My thoughts is this...

Would be boss if Scotland would be independent and Jock would be freed from travelling to faraway rigs to escape the oppression.

If the Scots dont vote to go it alone then they dont have much scope left for seeing themselves as a nation. 90 minute patriots has always been the jibe.

That said, I never understood why the SNP didn't hold out for the 'devo-max' option of greater economic independence as a platform to eventually force a split. Seems like bad tactics to me.

Could be that they're trying to take advantage of the shocking state of current government, capitalise on the resentment towards the Tories.

Having said that i too think it's a shocking plan, early polls suggested the majority of Scots weren't that keen on the idea and that's before the three major parties down here even set the ball rolling on anti-devolution propaganda. The SNP don't stand a chance IMO, it's extremely easy to pose a lot of questions to them which aren't easily answerable. Currency, healthcare, armed forces, immigration etc.

It can be done. There's plenty of countries with less going for them than Scotland that have independence. All you highlight are transitional problems not real obstacles.

I suppose the answer as to why the SNP are accepting a referendum now when they're on a hiding to nothing is that they'll sell it as completing their historical task to at least have presented a vote on the issue to the Scottish people. I dont know where they'd go if they dont make it a close run result in 2014. They might as well just disband in the safe knowledge that the Scots want to continue being part of the UK and not a stand alone nation.

I laugh at our puppet regime who say one big reason to not leave the EU is that we would have to make many new trade agreements with countries... well isnt that your job thats like a bookies saying "lets not open the shop on Cheltenham week or Aintree as we will be really busy and have to take thousands of more bets best just to stay open on normal week days" what a bunch of pretenders these clowns have the most cushioned job in the business start listening to the people and earn those fat pay checks you puppets before we have to start keeping our savings under our mattresses from the mafia men.
