Getting precious about the way we speak to each other is pretty weird to me.

Language is fluid and evolving constantly. As long as people can do it effectively (which is a problem for many people unfortunately) then I don't see the problem with all this. Things would be much easier if everyone spoke Esperanto like we planned ages ago anyway.

fixed.....

What do you think would cause this variety of English to die out?
US culture infiltrating music, TV, papers .... just about everything causes our clownish youngsters to ape them.

I anticipate you're going to guide me into a road that ends with giving me that evolving language crap. That's just the result of people accepting sloppiness.

No, you anticipate incorrectly. I had intended to discuss the status of a particular language's speakers, as it is actually that which causes languages to thrive or perish.

Ah, my misunderstanding then. In which case you have piqued my interest (although I'm still going to bed). So as a declining second or even third rate nation in the very near future, you might say that how the English speak English will be less relevant? And we'll adopt the spellings of the illiterate US?
