Apologies if already posted elsewhere, but after watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt. 2 last night for the second time, It was the first time I really paid attention to the 'always' scene involving Severus Snape - played by the late great Alan Rickman.

The skills behind playing such a complex, misunderstood character was a brilliant piece of art from Mr Rickman.

The question is, as someone who has been described as 'cold hearted' at times, is there any particular scenes that have made you have a lump in your throat ?

(Cue all the tough guys who are all testosterone flowing, Stella Artois guzzling, swinging brick for a heart men, pointing and laughing at this soppy soul)

Some of mine are:

Goodnight Mister Tom - generally upsetting seeing the boy a nervous wreck.
The Green Mile - John Coffy's wrongful execution.
The Deathly Hallows pt. 2 - Snape's 'always' scene.
The Boy in the striped Pyjamas - end scene.
I am legend - will smith putting his own dog to sleep (mainly because I put my childhood family pet to sleep less than 24 hours earlier).

Are there any other moments that almost make a grown man cry ?

Fire Away people ;)

I am a soppy female but can't argue with the Green Mile and I am Legend shouts.

Also - the first ten minutes of Up; pretty much the whole of the film Ordinary People; the carol singing bit in Love Actually (I know, off the charts in soppiness) and another girly favourite Steel Magnolias.

My son, then aged 6, watched the Matt Broderick version of Godzilla and sobbed hysterically when they killed Godzilla. He howled uncontrollably "She was only trying to feed her babies"
