In footy terms why do they say 'he set his stall out'? Years ago you set your stall out to sell socks and undies in Paddy's Market but in footy terms? ?

'Cack handed' is from when in the days of Henry the Eighth and similar lads, you wiped your arse with one hand and used the other for everyday things like eating your hotdog or playing with one of your wife's jubblies. May I add that toilet paper wasn't invented. In football parlance it can relate to having no cup to squeeze your turd in so you use a bare hand to lash it in the Anny Road.

'A flash in the pan'. I got told that this was a when Michaelangelo was painting the ceiling of that church. One day on his tea break he flicked his ciggy into the bog but he had earlier poured paint stripper down there. The resultant explosion caused the bog to fly onto the altar. The place was then named The Cistern Chapel. Was duff info though as it's to do with a flintlock backfiring.

! 'A watched kettle never boils'. Rubbish this one as I've just been staring at my kettle boiling for my cup of Ovaltoine and it boiled in only 10 minutes
Though I did blink twice
