Save Money promote youth players?

PL is one of the worst it seems for trusting and promoting youth but maybe the clubs feel there's just more at stake? It's why I prefer watching foreign footie now as they'll play someone whether they're 16 or 36 if they're deemed good enough to make a difference.
Yeah, you know far more about the foreign leagues than me, certainly Germany seems the place youngsters want to go to. In a similar vein , I prefer a dodgy stream of an Everton u18 game given the chance.

To be fair, not all the PL is like that but I think as a league we just seem terrible for it. Think of all the lads City seem to lose from their academy because they can't see a pathway. It's why I'm a big fan of Chelsea's team at the minute because, whilst forced, they've stuck with a good core of youngsters. Not saying more youngsters from us should be playing as I don't believe many of them actually are PL level though.

Same with United’s academy. Sometimes you just get talent coming through, other times you don’t. I can’t see much in the young players at the moment, no one is standing out.
Picking out your United comment, yeah your right you do need the talent coming through, and a year or two they got relegated from the u23 league. But their philosophy when they find a potential star is way way ahead of ours. I remember seeing the then Schoolboy Mason Greenwood playing for their u18s at 15, he played virtually the whole season for them. Next season at 16 he was playing regular U23s football, at 18 he’s in their first team squad. An undoubtedly talented player but someone not held back in his development. I don’t follow United but know they have a few youngsters coming through like Brandon Williams, and of course Rashford was fat tracked too. We’ve had one youngster , Gordon, make his PL debut in the past two seasons.

Yeah Billy Gilbert is a huge favourite of mine , I saw him as a 16 year old playing a few times for Scotland when I was watching Fraser Hornby , very talented. And again someone who was playing up early and regularly for Chelsea’s U23s and didn’t need a loan.

Although, must add. It seems James, Gilmour, Abraham and Tomori have now taken a back seat with more signings on their way threating Mount so maybe I can only like what they're doing for one season haha. Transfer bans for everyone please.

Players like martina and niasse shouldn’t be in our match day squads as it’s pointless, give Simms some minutes from the bench and promote a lad to the bench to take Martinas place too.
