Save Money promote youth players?

If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.
Do we have any youth players ready to make the step up? Gordon recently got his first start. I've felt for a while that Simms should be given a run. 41 points on the board now. Having posted a 100 million plus loss in the last accounts maybe the remaining PL games is the perfect time to have a look at a few in the first team. If we get even 1 that's a hit and Up's his game when playing with better players then we've saved possibly 10s of millions.

I agree with the philosophy & would promote any young player who is good enough it must happen more often, as we have probably let a few slip through the net by not allowing more game time in the first team.

We currently have Gordon,Kenny & Baninginme on the fringes of the first team, we will never know if they are good enough unless we give them some game time.

We have wasted a lot of money on transfers & wages on players that have not worked out, so we need to get the balance right between young players coming through & signing players who can have a big influence on this improving Everton team under Ancelotti.

Plain and simple, nope.

Aston Vill did it with Lambert and tried to promote within, signed strictly youngsters with potential.
It was that, potential, with no substance.

If we want to set ourselves back 2-3 years I’d not more, you don’t try and sign that centre half, ball winning midfielder and Pacy wingers, we try and blood Simms, Gordon, Branthwaite, we’re going to be 14-15th. By all means give them playing time, but end of the day, only if they’re good enough.

We cant do that simply because we need to finish as high as possible to generate prize money and Europe is still on the cards.

Even 8th could deliver Europe if City are banned and were 7 good results away from even higher.

We also need to finish in a good position to attract players.

I wonder if any other football club has ever thought about promoting youth players to save money?

In fact, it makes you wonder why there is a transfer window at all when clubs can just promote their youth players.

Can you name one young player who we have moved on and had cause to regret it in the last 5years?
