will be the indicator of our future, for me. If we are up for it, if we fight as we know we can and if we get a result then I think we will be able to try and secure a push for fifth, and I think that it might indicate that things have been shaken up behind the scenes. It will be an indication that they care, players and manager alike.

If we come out with a half arsed, lazy and defeatist attitude then we should really start to worry about what's going to happen for the rest of the season and beyond (in terms of Moyes' future). Usually, we seem to bounce back quite well from defeats like the one on Saturday (see United last season and Southampton this season) so if we don't bounce back then I would start to worry.

Team selection will also be key. Personally I don't think Neville, Osman, Heitinga or Jelavic should start after poor performances and if they do then I would really start to question Moyes even more so. Fellaini, as awful and disrespectful as he was, is still a quality player and someone we need to get something from City.

Vital game in so many different ways.

Goals win games and therefore we should play Mirallas up front and focus on getting him opportunities. We should try something new whatever it is. We can beat City if we defend well and show good concentration but it will be tough. Two wins in our next two games will really set us up for the Tottenham clash. We will learn a lot about Moyes' motivation and his motivational abilities against City. Who I believe are one of the most boring champions in history.

After that, I will settle for just a visible and deliberate proper shift for the fans. Watching that was a horrible experience and one that I don't want to go through again. I need to know they're not all utter tits and know what it means to us, because yesterday I felt like I was watching lads who didn't care.

I'd rather start Freddie Flintoff than Fellaini after yesterday. Don't care how good you are, if you reckon you're above playing in the games against smaller teams, you shouldn't get to play the big ones.

I can see both arguments for playing and not playing fellaini

actually not arsed if he does play or doesnt

I'm beginning to think he could be the solution. He's always looking to run in behind and is so much quicker and (it looks like) a better finisher than Jelavic. He actually does look like he'd be an ace striker.

Unfortunately that means we end up with someone who's not a winger on the right. We have several players who can do a job (Victor, Naismith, Oviedo, Barkley, Osman). I'd like to see Ross there. It's a "safer" position for him to play and he at least could promote and contribute to some good football. Moving Felli back into midfield, playing Anichebe up top with Kev and getting Osman out of the middle and onto the right would help us in some respects too. Osman needs to know he wasn't good enough last week as well.

For me, if we play him it sends the message that it's okay not to put a shift in as long as you're a top player when you can be bothered to. ie; he'll not change his ways and other players will get that same message.
Sending the message that you have to play every week and getting every player to put a shift in every week is, in my opinion, more important than any one league match.

Exactly.
Do you drop him to teach him a lesson or keep him in to redeem himself?
City game isnt really the best one to try, but the midfield needs a reshuffle. Barkley must surely be in his thoughts.
