From Sky Sports:

ETO'O NEARS SAMPDORIA MOVE

"Sampdoria are closing in on the signing of Everton striker Samuel Eto'o, according to reports in Italy.

Samp met with Eto'o's representative Claudio Vigorelli on Thursday morning and according to Italian TV station Mediaset, the Cameroon forward has agreed to join the club on a 18-month contract while he has reduced his wages by 40 percent in order to return to Serie A."

If true then I wonder why he is so desperate to leave.

Very strange.
Somekind of clause in his contract made him seek better option i think

Just saying if. You never know what's going on. Would you have called Joe Royle a joke for selling Kanchelskis?

He wants the move according to multiple sources - pointless keeping him if so.

At the time there was no option. Kanchelskis was in all kinds of trouble with unfriendly people and need money or it was something like that.

But Back to Etoo still not clear if he will be gone or stay here. Is it down to talk of wages? and I take it there will be no fee just goodbye.

maybe martinez has told him has to play as a striker instead of p1ssing about doing his own thing.
