Wow, a lot of people jumping to conclusions about his attitude. Zero evidence to back it up other than some nutcase on Twitter who was banned from here years ago.

Just live with the memory that Eto'o was an Evertonian.

which nutcase you mean?

He always always always had a reputation for having a bad attitude at past clubs
Barca, Inter, Anzhi, he was described as eventually turning destructive
Let's be honest, his playing contribution hasn't been immense- the major contribution he's offered is his leadership, his experience, winning mentality, etc.
To be frank that hasn't exactly paid dividends.
And IF he has been a negative influence in the change-room, then get rid of him, save on wages, make a tidy little profit. Get a new better striker in the summer.

He wasn't at inter. He was a model professional who played out of position all season and took home the treble.

Apologies. I definitely had heard that he had issues at Inter. Though I'm probably wrong.
That being said he definitely developed a reputation for his strops at other clubs (and with Cameroon).

I love the guy. Hes been pretty poor recently but then so have the whole team. Id be gutted if he left Everton. He has so much still to offer.

Interesting that Martinez said 'a couple of clubs had inquired'.

Obviously Sampdoria is one. And I'd bet there isn't another one be it was a lie to drum up interest/make Samp pay more.

Whether or not he is disruptive off the pitch I don't know but I do think the rest of the team has been slightly overawed playing with him. You can see they're conscious they are playing with a legend and are desperate to get the ball to him whenever they can. Unfortunately we have 2014 Eto'o who isn't playing up front, rather than the version of 6 years ago. If we had been able to treat him as just another player it might have worked out - as it turns out I think he has probably affected the team dynamic negatively. For whatever reason I think our players do better when they're all seen as equals.
