I can't wait for the international break to be over and Everton can get back to disappointing me in a more normal manner.

Mirror sources have suggested that Sammy Lee is about to join the Everton coaching staff. We understand Ronald Koeman wanted him to join last Summer, but decided Lee's ties to Liverpool FC would mean it would be too difficult for Lee to win over the Everton supporters, but Koeman now feels that he needs Lee's experience to lead Everton away from the relegation zone and thinks having him at his side is a necessity.

We also understand the Everton folk hero Duncan Ferguson will be stepping down from the coaching staff and looking for a challenge at another club.

That was my first thought too, but, apparently, it's true.

Last summer ( see http://sportwitness.co.uk/ronald-koeman-says-everton-couldnt-recruit-sammy-lee-liverpool/ ) , it was thought to be too difficult to bring Lee to Goodison, but needs must and all that.

I knew that he would have wanted him originally but is there a source for this other than Moomin?

If anyone had suggested bringing Lee in at the beginning of the season I'd have just laughed, but we need some impetus from somewhere, and maybe Sammy's the man for the job ?
