Distin should retire at the end of next season or move on, the premiership and Europe is much quicker than it was when we had Dave Watson and Richard Gough even though Gough was outstanding.

In the future it could be Duffy and Stones at CB. Lets not buy players in future, lets develop the youth like Man Utd do.

13 league titles under Fergie can't be wrong.

Are you quite insane?

The bulk of Uniteds squad is made up of 20m+ players.

Its a myth that they have this insane youth, they really dont.

They had a golden batch, 15 years ago.

You cant play a full Season with 3 CBs, 1 of which is 35 Years old.
Jags and Distin are still rock solid for their age, if their good enough then age doesn't really matter.

And we can of course recall Stones from his loan if an unlikely disaster occurs.

...I think it was Mark Lawrenson who said he was chatting with Moyes who was telling him about a number of premier class full backs in the Championship. If that is the case, I'm very hopeful that we have a goodun in Stones and that this fella was behind him in Moyes' list.

Distin is a rock, but hes not getting any younger and thus you would "assume" it may take him longer to recover between games and from injury, but if 1 of the 3 picks up a long term injury it leaves us very short. I think 4 is the perfect number, sure it means players like Duffy have to wait forever for games, but thems the breaks.

I personally think Duffy will leave shortly regardless, I also doubt he will play Premiership football, just a feeling I have, based on nothing at all.

Have to disagree mate, Distin is hardly injured and Duffy can come in for Jags who is injured from time to time, and like I said, Stones can come in if a disaster occurs like 2 of them get injured.

And Duffy is too good to leave, he'd prove us all wrong by showing how quality and solid he is at the back.

I dont think its a case of proving us all wrong, I think most people have high hopes for the lad, I do myself, I just have a "feeling", as I say its based on nothing, I havent seen anything like enough of the lad to judge him either way.

And yes Distin is hardly injured, but how long can he maintain that "luck"?

In an ideal world, Jags and Distin play 50+games next Season, without injury or suspension or even a loss of form.

But thats not the Everton way.
