The transfer window always opens as soon as the season finishes.

The difference this year is that it will close before the season starts.

And of course, a World cup.

I'd think though ( wishful thinking ) that we would need to make ( or if we have forward thinking board members have already made ) the decision on the manager and that will set off a chain of events for new manager with DoF and take things from there MG

The window OFFICIALLY opens May 17th!!!

Didnt realise they had moved the 1st June date forward.

The World Cup starts 14th June and ends 15th July, then everybody will go on holiday for 2-3 weeks.

And it closes 9th Aug.

I make that 5-6 weeks window to make the bulk of signings, now we can of course sign players not at the World cup, theres a few players who wont be busy, but the majority of the better players will be difficult, I mean only teams who make the last 4 and so on will be busy.

Still, its not ideal.

Im hoping we can certainly hit the ground running.

Plus we can still sell players after August 9th till August 31st, just not to anybody in the Premier League.

Don't do it to yourself bro. It took us a whole summer to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson; there's no way we're getting anyone in early.

Lessons need to be learned following last season, especially where expectations management is concerned.

The simple fact of the matter is that we cannot compete with the top 6. Consecutive top 7 finishes (with the view of progressing yearly in the Europa league) should be our target going forward.
