Allardyce was brought in to avoid relegation. We all knew that. The players couldn’t get the basics right. He improved things initially but he hasn’t done well enough and he shouldn’t keep the job long term.

Sacking him now would be stupid and booing him during the rest of his time here would be equally as stupid. As would booing the players every game. They’re struggling enough as it is. They don’t need to be up against the crowd as well.

I keep seeing this but what does it mean as it seems very simplistic to me. While the players can't be absolved of all blame the managers also need to shoulder a huge chunk of it.

I watched Koeman constantly hang our FBs out to dry. They were expected to provide attacking width and also defend with no help whatsoever. The system simply didn't work for them and they were on a hiding to nothing.

Likewise now I see our CF under Lardiola completely isolated. What are they meant to do?

These are just two extremely simple examples. Players need a plan that they can believe in and more importantly that they can execute. The Walker/Royle turnaround is a case in point.

Quite simply neither Koeman nor Allardyce have in my view a clue how to utilise the squad they have. A decent coach changes everything.

Interesting that you edited out the first bit of my comment, where I suggested that fans who blindly accept the status quo are turning their back on the club rather than your stated position that only blanket support irrespective of performance, application and comments to the press constitutes support. You would get on pretty well with the political structures in Russia or China, I reckon.

I was highlighting that you didn’t want the club to get relegated like villa did. Neither did Moshiri, that was why Allardyce was appointed.

Ask yourselves whether or not City, Liverpool, United, Chelsea or Tottenham would have hired Allardyce in our position. No. Because it was not a relegation battle that early on, even now it isn’t.

Ambition meter has gone right down because of the absolutely crap recruitment and treatment of new players.

Whoever was appointed you'd think their pressers would be all about bigging up the talent in the squad, underachieving, and looking to chase down 7th. It's very telling that there has been zero ambitious talk from Allardyce and instead he defaults to his survival metric at any given opportunity. Contrast and compare with Rooney's soundbytes the other week, absolute chalk and cheese.

If you employ mediocrity don't be surprised when it spreads thoughout the staff.

I think we were more so when he came but only because of the number of games left, once the games start running out and there are less points to play for it's easier to be safe

Blithely accepting the faecal matter served up to us week after week is turning your back on the club. Decrying our clubs decline and showing that, for the fans at least, nsno still means something is the opposite of turning our backs.

No one is happy with our performances. But if you think booing and chanting insulting songs is the answer then you’re wrong.
