Agreed. Moshiri appears to take great interest in media, how he’s perceived and the job he’s doing. His odd relationship with Jim White and calling in to justify transfer deals both successful and failed shows he craves positive press and praise. If the newspapers begin to gun for Fat Sam and he feels as a result he looks foolish he'll sack him.

I really hope Moshiri is learning from all his mistakes! Koeman, Allardyce, Jim White, weird interviews etc etc! Get this appointment as right as possible then just take a leaf out of Abramovich's book or the Mansour's book and say nothing - actions speak louder than words!

Thinking about the Burnley game, if we lose (as some wouldn't mind to get shut of BFS), isn't this playing into his hands as he never shuts up about relegation, safety etc. I would take shitty draws (wins would strengthen his hand to stay) get safe and get shut, put it down as a bad dream.

One more win and he can`t spin the self preservation, relegation scare tactics anymore.

Hopefully the players feel the same ( despite the soundbites from the club ) and they`ll dig a win out against Burnley.

As many have said, the sooner he is gone, the sooner we can start speaking to serious candidates for the job.

We will not beat Burnley. So that's 2 wins in 12. Averaging out at about 7 wins over the entire season. That's bottom-of-the-league form right there. 7 wins is 21 points, and no team draws 19 games in a season (what we'd need based on this form to get to the magic 40 points). Still not being sacked, no? This is diabolical.

Think he's known all along from the start that he's not Moshiri's ideal manager.

Keep us up until the end of the season then [Poor language removed] with a huge amount of cash in the Summer - I think that's pretty much how the interview went.

He has no intention of shaking it up, trying new things or being bold tactically.
He knows if we continue to slowly draw our way to safety with a couple of timorous wins here and there, he'll be off to Magaluf in the Summer to neck pints and watch strippers fire ping pong balls out their lady gardens.

All this blaming players and fans etc is just shielding his brand of god awful football in case some Chinese team comes calling next season.

Not a chance.Well i hope so anyway!The vast majority of the fan base want him gone.Surely the board realise this.If our owner is as ambitious as we are being led to believe, then Allardyce will not be here come August.

My impression is that our owner’s ambitions extend no further than continued EPL membership ahead of the new stadium.

Which is a fundamental ambition of us all obviously, but we the fans have loftier dreams.

We already know he writes off the big games as “expected losses” and the appointment of Alladyce suggests to me he has his own idea of our “place” in the scheme of things.

The only hope for getting rid of Sam is that Moshiri takes a good hard look at things and concludes that Sam is not the “saviour” his own PR people sell him as and that any continuation of our form from Boxing Day to now will see us in the thick of a relegation battle next season.

This (I hope!) is looking less and less likely as each day goes by! Huge pressure on Moshiri now though to get the next appointment right!

And that raises another cause for concern.....Moshiri’s record with managers thus far does not inspire much enthusiasm for his next manager hunt

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read that all those months ago. Was completely gobsmacked that an owner of a team looking to break into the top six would count games against the teams they wish to displace in the league as expected defeats. Baffling and extremely embarrassing to hear that from the owner of the club you invest so much time and energy into.

The press articles do seem to be the writing on the wall for Sam.

I share the concerns about Moshiri's methodology in appointing managers but I guess we can only hope he strikes gold next time.

I still think it will be Silva and if so, I'll give my support as always. I think we represent the best Silva can do at this point whereas I think Fonseca will have more suitors.

If Sam is off then it should be settled and announced asap. They have had months to prepare for this and no reason nor excuse to have the replacement installed almost simultaneously.

If that's the case I assume things would happen either as soon as we are officially safe or after the final game. I don't mind which, we just have no time at all to waste particularly with this being World Cup year.
