Sam Allardyce

So, what next?

The more you think about it, the more Sam allardyce proves to be a terrible decision in a long list of terrible decisions by the people running the football side of our club.

Forget we hired Sam specifically, could have been anyone. So imagine this;

We approach an out of work/retired manager, us approaching them being the key point here. So we approach them and offer them their biggest contract of their career, after spending 200 million on players over 12 months. You tell them you are spending a further 47 million on attackers in the January window. You offer them a side that contains players such as Ajax captain , Wayne Rooney, Morgan schneiderlin, Jordan pickford , the Wales captain, all to name a few.

And you tell them the only thing they have to do is keep the club in the league. No cup aims , no European football challenge, no just keep the club up and at the end of the season you will probably release them and give them a huge lump sum as a thank you.

Why would any manager actually try to do the bare minimum in that scenario? Why would any manager genuinely try to do anything more than the minimum points needed and that's it? They know they are gone either way and the quality of the players should earn points by themselves so why try to develop anything or achieve anything?

I still find it hard to believe that the only manager available to us was a guy who had 'technically' retired from the game, there must have been other options.

Looking at it that way, Everton have gone a bit daft havnt we.

Doesn't that speak volumes by itself? Our shortlist was 2, one from Watford and hull and another retired from the game who had won nothing in their career.

Thousands of managers in football and that was all we did? Embarrassing

If he thought that he wouldn’t be bothering to defend himself with such vigour. What is interesting is that he has shifted from ‘blame the players’ to ‘well Arsenal can do that to anyone’ . It’s a s close to a Mea Culpa’ as you’re ever going to get with him, he can’t bear to lose face. Let’s face it, whispering sweet nothings into the ear of your typical footy fan is where he scores zero out of ten, and probably why he’s moved on so many times. Moyes was superb at it, and Roberto. Ultimately though it’s al down to results, he’s had a disastrous week mainly of his own making but if he gets three points on Saturday alot of the anger will be parked
