Used to absolutely love this show as a kid. Brings back memories of watching this of a Saturday lunchtime, then going to the match with my dad afterwards. Done a trawl through Youtube. It's also really interesting to see what the burning football issues of the day were and how they were being covered:

October 15th, 1988: 10:00 in, Brian Clough defends Philip Carter, as the other chairmen were trying to depose him as Football League chairman:

March 25th, 1990:

September 16th, 1990: 3:20 in on part 2, Jim White (now of Sky fame) gets thrown into a bath by jubilant Dunfermline players:

October 21st, 1990:

December 16th, 1990:

I'll put my hand up and say I liked them too. At the time they were a new refreshing way of presenting the game. Funny too.

Agree brings back memories did any one see the one when they secretly tapped St john watching Scotland a true classic clip

Used to absolutely love this show as a kid.

Was vital to me, moving to England in '89 as a 10-year old lad just beginning his love of football (and Everton). Was dimly aware St John was ex-RS but don't remember being bothered by it. Thought he was a bit boring, tho'. Loved Greavsie! Expertly entertaining pundit, and as a footballer maybe as close to our own Dixie as any other English striker has ever been?

Here's Saint & Greavsie's preview to the 1988/89 season:

Big spending Everton one of the title favourites. How times change.

The video includes Cottee's goal for Everton vs Tranmere in a July 1988 friendly at Prenton Park, as well as an interview with him.

"You kill me Greavesie,ha,ha,ha,ha,ha"
"Footballs a funny old game Saint,a funny old game"
I swear the pair of them used to say this every single programme, they were great,if Sky had had their heads screwed on they would have utilised them, funnily enough for a RS I always liked the Saint!!
