Sky Sports | Football | Premier League | News | Saha on Besiktas hit list

Turkish side Besiktas are reported to be preparing a bid of £1.7m for Everton striker Louis Saha. (Sky Sports)

Turkish outfit Besiktas are reported to be expressing an interest in Everton striker Louis Saha.

Various sources in Turkey and France suggest the Istanbul-based club are prepared to splash out around 2million euros (£1.7m) on the Frenchman.

Saha only joined Everton from Manchester United last summer, penning a two-year contract with the Toffees.

He once again struggled with injuries last term, a problem which has plagued his career to date, but looked sharp towards the end of the campaign as he enjoyed a prolonged period away from the treatment table.

The 30-year-old frontman is still keen to prove himself at Goodison Park and feels he is capable of holding his own in the Premier League.
With that in mind, Saha is reluctant to leave Merseyside for at least one more year, unless David Moyes deems him surplus to requirements.

"I have not been contacted by any team," he told skysports.com.
"I want to repay David Moyes for taking a chance on me. Unless he decides he does not want me, I can't see myself leaving."

Any thoughts? Make way for Owen? Not worth having Saha or Owen? Is Saha worth keeping?

Saying that, King Louis seems to be liking it here and dont want to leave....

This

Cant imagine him going would weaken the quality in the squad even if Owen came, i think if a striker where to go Vic would make the most sense from an economic and playing point of view.

He's useful to have on the bench, its great to see him coming on in the 80th minute when we are in need of a goal.

£1.7 for saha, but £4 million for Anichebe...pmsl

1 is an young fit international with his whole career ahead of him and the other is an injured 30+ striker who can barely play 10 games a season. Hardly a shock to me!

But the 30 year old injury prone striker is still a real goal threat when he comes off the bench, Anichebe throws a strop when the doesnt get his own way. Saha wants to prove himself whereas Anichebe thinks he deserves to play every game.

I would get rid of Anichebe before Saha anyday, Saha has spoken out himself so what more can you ask for

Are you messin :lol: hmmm Saha or Anichebe?????? to obvious for me

In terms of actual skill......no question, Saha. In terms of actually getting a game out of 1 of them, then its Vic all the way. Having all the skill in the world is no good if your lying on the treatment table most weeks.

I think Saha will be getting a game ahead of Anichebe any day of the week tbh When Saha's played this season he's produced goals, when Anichebe plays what does he produce? Holds up the ball for 60 mins then comes off for another player

A fit Vic or an injured Saha. Who will get more gametime?(y)
