Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Was always creeping up on him, but he's officially announced his retirement from the game.

On his day he was the most complete strikers I've ever seen play for us. Absolutely lethal with either foot or in the air.

He also scored one of the most memorable goals in recent Everton history (shame about the result). But no one can take away those 30odd seconds in that FA cup final, my god that was special.

Good luck King.

I still can't believe Moyes didn't take the £8M when offered. Class player though, he was fantastic when he played for Fulham...

Not Everton related? I thought it would be.

Think because he's bouncing from club to club every season and not playing, he's pulled the plug.

Was occasionally truly boss for us.

That goal at Bolton when we lost always stands out for me. Little shimmy stepover thing and BOOM top corner.

Wish him well in whatever he does next.

Feel sorry for the lad with the injury's and having to end his career on the wayside....must have been hella frustrating for him...All the best...

Well, two years after his knees retired, so has he.

Not knocking him though, he was top drawer on his day.

Was boss for a few years. That last 18 months of watching him and Cahill bimble about toothlessly every week was the most painful part of the Moyes era and when I lost faith in his tactical ability.

Always liked the lad even though he was truly knackered towards the end of his time with us. Really was a top class player on his day, shame for everyone his body and mind too didn't allow him to have more of them. Wish him well in whatever he does next.

I always liked him and I'm sort of sad to see him retire. I feel old.

He wasn't always great, but there was always that feeling that when he was on the pitch, something magical could happen...ie Chelsea in the FA cup final or scoring all those goals vs Blackpool.

On his day, which sadly wasn't often enough, he was one of the best forwards in the entire world. NEA.
