WTF is going on with our training.
According to the Echo, Saha buggered his hamstrings up again.
So after a 4 goal haul last week we are now without a goalscorer and Beckford will be asked to carry the can.
I despair.

Saha , limped out of training on Thursday and left FF looking dodgy ! Was having a scan on it today , will know more in a bit. Becks will be fine , blues to win 2 nil on sunday !! Crosses fingers !!

Hamstrings are a bit funny.

When you tear them you can build scar tissue in the muscle which becomes predisposed to future tearing.

it was a problem Andy / Andrew Cole used to have and given Louis's age is not unexpected now.

The good news is it mustn'd be a big tear if he's only ruled out for 10-14 days. That suggests they'll be working on him intensively at FF till next week.

The key for me - is his fitness for Chelsea. WE NEED HIM for Chelsea.

This ^^^^^*^

I blame the surface at FF...not FF itself but training on one ground constantly & playing on another...well, me bones tells me its not right!

Besides, we all knew Saha's history, but were willing to take a punt. I for one am happy to have him playing when he's fit & accept that its unlikely to be every game.

I believe they have 11 state of the art pitches with undersoil heating too, along with indoor pitches.

Its not the pitches mate.

As the Japanese say: "TRAIN HARD, FIGHT EASY"

And when you're training people inevitably get hurt. Its no doubt Louis has a hamstring issue but, given how important that muscle group is to football its a question of managing him.

Its his age as much as anything too and his previous hamstring problems throughout his career.

This. Hamstrings are so unpredictable, in fact you can be more likely to pull/tear it because of over training (maybe not in Saha's case!) because of the tightness of the muscle area. You see runners pull up out of nowhere with these injuries, like a cramp that doesn't go away.
He does get injured a lot, but not everyone is built the same, some people just don't respond as well as others. It's a shame because it's plain to see he's a talented world class player when he's on song.

Andy Cole is a similar example who used to suffer repeated hamstring problems like this

http://www.bcfc.com/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10412~1005859,00.html

"... have today received the results of Andy Cole's scan on his hamstring problem.

The scan shows that Cole has sustained a grade one (the smallest) tear to his hamstring.

The injury is expected to keep him out for between seven and ten days from the time the injury occurred (last Friday March 30)."

blah blah blah.

So it's probably a very similar situation with Louis.

While frustrating, it's not the long term disaster some were forecasting, ie up to six weeks, if he's back for Sunderland that will be just one league game missed. A cup run would be most welcome but points are more important at the moment.

Gutted , always has to happen we play deecent

wouldnt suprise me if fellaini got injured today, distan aswell
