Saha Appreciation Thread

I couldn't break that down for you, but it isn't just about goals for me, and Saha brings some useful attributes to the table in my opinion. He'll score more goals if the service ever moves on from the angled cross into the box from deep. Until then we are going to struggle in general really.

Sorry for being a parrot, buuuuut: such as?

i can decide if the fact that howard is now even with him on goals for the season is hilarious or just horrible.

the formation last night was a bit ridiculous, the 4-2-2-2 with no creative players in the middle. the only times we got anything going is when ossie cut inside and could release baines. i know people on this forum have been screaming for 2 strikers, but 2 strikers and 2 defensive midfielders just doesn't work, if we're going to play two defensive midfielders we need a creative midfielder in front of them. still, despite the bad formation saha did **** up every chance in front of goal he had. credit where its due though, apart from the woeful shooting he passed pretty well on the break to play Straq Osman and Donovan into space a couple times.

most on here have identified that Saha plays better with two strikers because it allows him to play behind the other striker and make neat passes (which i still think he's very good at). without someone like osman behind him however, he couldn't play his best. still, the choking in front of goal is enough for me to bench him. call it negative, but i would be okay with returning to the 4-2-3-1 with two defensive midfielders and osman or barkley in front of them, and either straq or velios starting up top (really i would love the 4-1-2-1-2 with felli and osman as the 1s, drenthe and donovan out wide, but we all know moyes better than that). we should give saha some time off the bench, his only goal so far was as a sub after all. I would also like to see a bit more of connor macaleny, every time he's come on he's created two or three chances, i'd love to see what he could do with a solid 30 minutes.

I would appreciate Louis if he found the nearest train out of Liverpool and never came back.

He does that he's a legend.

Saha was great for us and I respect everything he gave to us, but there's a reason I've written this in past tense. It's time to move on.
