SAF bants at the Barcodes

I think Baconface escaped censure by choosing his words a bit more carefully than Mancini or Melted Candle Head. The two of them basically accused the refs of incompetence/corruption.

Ferguson does seem to get a bit more leeway than many when it comes to these types of things though. My impression, anyway.

I think it's because he's been so long in the game that ref's know him almost personally, and if he has a bit of a rant ref's know not to take it too personally as it's just 'his way'.

Does annoy me about Newcastle. They are a 1 club City so of course they are going to get big attendances and a big stadium. Its the same with Sunderland aswell.

No way are Newcastle as big a club as they think they are. They are big in Newcastle and thats about it.

The thing about one club cities is that their fans talk utter sh*te too because there's no-one to there to tell them they're spouting boll*cks - they all start believing their own bull.

(Sadly, this is increasingly the case in Liverpool too since the RS tend to just shout us down with abuse about "Bitters" these days rather than actually listen to us. LFC fans used to be reasonable and well-informed. Now they're mostly gobby, deluded pricks.)

They won the Inter City Fairs Cup in (I think) 1968. This was the year that it became known as 'the runners-up cup' so effectively the forerunner of the UEFA Cup

don't count the fairs cup as UEFA don't even recognise that it ever existed

I watched the whole thing, he should have been sent to the stands and faced a ban. Riley did him a huge favor here.

Did you laugh when we got called a small club?

United will win the league and he'll retire.

I did. It showed we got under his skin.

I'd prefer him to call us a shower of useless t*ts rather than pat us on the head condescendingly and reminisce with Moyes about Phil Neville over a glass of merlot after pounding us 6-0.

I did have a small laugh.

But SAF did leave his technical area to have a go at the referees and wasn't punished. Now if Moyes and any other manager who does the same shouldn't be reprimanded either. Any manager who gets sent to the stands for a similar incident can appeal and not be sent. Don't get me wrong I think the refereeing in the last few games has been awful and there have been times when I wish Moyes would have gone in and shook a few of them. Now this has set precedent and the good referees could find it difficult to punish managers who do cross the line because they can point to the SAF incident.

I agree with Wenger. Lol but I also agree with the Newcastle comments - joke...
