I know Tony Marsh has had a right slating on here and rightly so. I was reading Peter Jones' article (TW) on tactics we should use to beat Manu:lol:

This clown goes through the Manu team individually, highlighting their weaknesses!! FFS man they are European champions, it's a good job he didn't go through our team:lol:

One of his main tactics is not to play the long ball as that is just giving the ball away and to pass it through midfield - I AGREE but if it was that easy nobody would ever play the long ball! It's about percentages and I'd rather us loose the ball up front to their defence than in midfield or at the back trying to play around them. It could end up 6-0 or worse:huh:

We need to grind out a few results any style before I start slating the way we're playing, as for Peter Jones he should [Poor language removed] off back to his PS3(n)

I believe if Moyes didnt want them to play Hoof Ball so much it wouldnt be too difficult. But seeing as he was a defender - its what he does.

There's a difference between playing a defensive game and fecking just belting the ball upfield at every opportunity. Moyes' game seems to based on when a team is protecting a 1-0 lead, it's injury time and the other is pressing. Just belting it upfield is a sound gameplan, in those circumstances. But you can't do that for 90+ minutes, particularly when the opposing team is fully aware that that is what you are going to do.

I hate seeing us hoofing the ball through the air more than anyone but my point was that we shouldn't try to change it for tomorrow against the best team in the country as Peter (Cocoa the clown) Jones suggests!

it's quite rare that a manager against a wstronger side will still try and play smooth passing game on the deck. few are naive enough. but roy keane tried it against us and we screwed him 7-1

Sometimes in games you have to go root one. Manure did it when they lost to the [Poor language removed], Arsenal have done it to us 2 seasons on the trot. The thing is, we're not very good at the long ball most of the time. If youre gonna hoof it, hoof it to a target man. We hoof and tell people to chase where the hoof goes.

Aint Peter Jones on Dragons Den? Owns companies? Didnt know he was a blue hehe

We need to mix it up against them. Get in there faces, be physical but also play some good football and atleast try and string a few passes together.

I look at there possible central midfield of Fletcher and Anderson, I think Osman, Neville and Fellaini could get the better of them. Anderson seems a bit hot and cold at the moment and Fletcher is no great shakes.

I think we could give them a game to be honest, It all depends on the approach though. If we sit back they'll destroy us. When you have a vulnerable defence like we do the worst thing we could do is sit back and let them come at us.

If we have to hoof it then we have to put real pressure on as well to force them into errors. Then do something with set plays. It's a long shot (sorry) but we might get away with it.

But are we capable of the physical approach at the moment? Fellaini looks a tidy lad, and Hibbo is good against the lightweights. But who else is gonna get up close and nasty? Cahill is out and i can't see Pienaar putting himself about too much. And Castillo probably won't make it past the bench. And lastly, Yak is one to feign injury, not give it.

I think we're doomed, TB. We'll be slaughtered in this game.

Super Phil Neville.(y)

He'll up his game against Utd, we'll also have the extra man in midfield.

Osman, Fellaini and Neville against Fletcher and Anderson. If it was Scholes or Carrick I'd be scared but these players are no great shakes. Anderson will be but he seems very inconsistent at the moment.

Maybe we should throw Vaughany in, he'll give us a physical approach. If we go out with a positive approach and have a go I'll be happy.

Had my first look over this today. Got to laugh havn't you. Must play Baines at left back, Hibbo has to start on the right. Either Rodwell or Castillo must be in the holding role. Vaughan should start up front. Lescott and Jags in the middle.

In other words, could he have got it more wrong?
