Sorry it turns out the first report I read was wrong, he did play yesterday.

Such a tragedy RIP, a Derry City legend in the making. Turned down a contract in England to stay with Derry.

Gutting for the team and town this and his family of course, just a year since Mark Farren died and Josh Daniels had most of his family killed in that accident in Buncrana.
He was a top player, tough tackler, leader. Life just over like that, unbelievable.

There is a story doing the rounds that he came off late in the game vs Drogheda complaining of a knock to the head. Match reports make no mention of it but Derry fans saying he just went and sat on the bench with a couple of minutes left in the game and no subs left. Looks like he went home to bed and just never woke up. Tragic if true and will certainly shine the light on the lack of head injury protocol in football
