I've just done exactly that, and his boot remains in front of the players shin and he is taken out by Ledson's thighs/knackers. There is no stud to leg contact in that challenge.

Im talking about the 2nd tackle ?? It's a shocker, a leg breaking over the ball tackle.

williams is a scouser, been with us since he was 7

.....he's the one I like. Not saying he's a classy type with a pedigree to make it but he has the type of game that every team needs.

On the 2 tackles, I wouldn't offer any excuse except to say the lads with a bit of nastiness in their game are often the ones who come through. I distinctly remember a Lancashire League game v the reds at Bellefield when a young Jamie Carragher hurled foul abuse at a dapper old gentleman on the touchline for suggesting to the Linesman that a throw in was Everton's. It stuck in my mind, Carragher was never the most gifted but was desperate to win.

Ledson might just be the one who has both the necessary quality and drive. Time will tell, but coaches at club and international level seem to have that view.

Ledsons was worse imo, straight leg over the top is a leg breaker.

I dont think he went in over the ball per say as he did touch the ball almost pushing it forward.

Years ago when i was at Crewe, they used to teach us to win the ball 100% fairly 1st and foremost but go in hard and if you take the player you take the player.

Nowadays its a no no to hit a player.
