Tbf, Turkey has warned Russia a few times about entering it's air space. They were warned again and just ignored the Turkish forces. It's their own fault.......
Hypothetically, of course, but is it just okay to bomb IS in Syria, but NOT if seeking refuge in Turkey ?

Apologies for my flippant reply ...I really don't know.....it seems that the west can bomb any country chasing ISIS apart from its allies. Even then if ISIS went into Turkey in force then the bombs would probably follow.....
A provocation by Turkey to draw a response from Syria/Russia so as to pull NATO openly into the conflict. Russia's further support for Assad has been the game changer in thwarting the Saudi/Qatari/Turkish/US/UK plans to overthrow Assad. Turkey has been the main avenue for Saudi weapons/money to reach those fighting the Syrian government, including ISIS, and has been the biggest recipient of cheap ISIS oil. The Syrian/Russian air attacks have effectively stopped this and Turkey is not a happy bunny.

Funding is such a strong word.
They are mainly funding Anti Assad forces in the area who then pass on weaponry because ISIS are also anti-Assad.
