Russia has agreed to co-operate on Nato's programme to defend against ballistic missile attacks, Nato's chief has said.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen said at a Nato summit in Lisbon that the two sides had agreed in writing that they no longer posed a threat to one another.

"For the first time the two sides will be co-operating to defend themselves," Mr Rasmussen said.

The Lisbon summit has been redrawing Nato's focus to face new challenges.

Or maby China. But i know when Russia is involved now with Nato, that say something is happening in the background what we people don't know about and the United States must know alot more then we Europeans. But its defo no good news when Russia comes together with US.

I at the moment welcome this development and can see it strengthening us all round. I would think Russia is not just concerned about NK but all the other central Asian countries formerly part of the USSR. It is possible that although Russia is assisting Iran at present in the long term I think it may be concerned also with the Middle East countries and the spread of fundamentalism.
