Runcorn

Many, many more places to come I fear.

I wouldn’t sneer towards them so much as the majority of places in the country are in danger of falling to reform in the next election.

Particularly traditional left wing, working class towns.
This needs to be a wake up call to the other parties to start realising they are losing the trust of a considerable amount of people in this country.

The Runcorn result is likely to be the first of many such results if the Labour and Conservative party don't sort themselves out and offer a clear set of messages and policies that people understand and relate to and can see will benefit them and the country.

Honestly, how can anyone vote for a party headed by the elite claiming they're anti elite. They're lying straight off the bat. A party that championed the Brexit disaster. Fancy looking at the current state of America and thinking, yeah let's have some of that. Some truly stupid people inhabit this earth.
It's not so much about the specific party whether it be in the UK, US, France or Germany, it's about the populist wave spreading throughout much of the West. It's either that or an old fashioned protest vote. I think it's more likely the former than the latter. Much more to come. The tragedy being it was all so avoidable.

If you look at the current results, of the 79 councillors REFORM have obtained, over 70% of them look to have been taken from the Tories. Badenoch is a disaster for them and is driving people to REFORM who would likely never Vote Labour or Lib Dem anyway.

It's not being helped by social media (and media in general); lots of people are incapable of critical thinking. They believe everything they see that is ultimately being posted to generate anger and division. They are incapable of doing basic simple research to verify whether anything is actually true.

The government should introduce an IQ test before allowing people to vote 🙄

Hopefully reforms popularity has come early enough to prevent a gen election win, let's see how they stand up to scrutiny...also there's problems ahead for them, tommy robinson getting released could cause a potential split in support as could any tory pact

It's an area with high levels of deprivation, which is generally associated with people being less well educated, ergo they are thick as mince so makes sense they've voted REFORM.

I’m afraid we can’t put it all down to being “thick as mince”. Some of them are just vile.

Apparently, the current thinking is it is a protest vote against the loss of the Winter Fuel Payment.

So, to summarize, they are protesting against that loss of the benefit by voting for a party that wants to remove the NHS in favour of Private Medical Care.

Makes perfect sense
Maybe if they get the winter fuel payment back it will pay for the private health care, just a thought .

The result didn`t surprise me in the slightest tbh.

The man in the street has had enough with the main stream political parties, as they feel they no longer represent them, which in turn leads to the likes of Reform gaining votes.

A lot of lads I drink with, the cabbies, the lads who work on the tools etc and a lot of the pensioners would all vote for Reform right now.

Talking to them means that sometimes you have to bite your tongue, but these are the people who are the traditional core Labour voters, who have become completely disillusioned with the current Labour party and are ripe for exploitation by the likes of Reform.

You multiply this across the country and it`s quite scary.
