Unfortunately I think Alonso is a better player (though admittedly injured alot more) so getting Barry isn't going to make them any better. That being said, I'd love it if O'Neill ships him off to Arsenal for less than 18M just to spite Rafael.

I would'nt be surprised if the RS did actually sign Barry by breaking the rules "AGAIN" despite the deal being dead in the water. They would get away scott free for there crimes and once again go unpunished by the FA.

Just as we first thought. They tapped up Robbie Keane and got away with it and they signed a dodgey player in Mascherano without punishment. Strange how Manure where slated for the Tevez deal in an almost identical transfer deal yet no accusations wher thrown at the RS?? I wonder why?? Maybe it was down to Brian Barwick's influence, hmmmmmm!!

After the inevitable bull that Barry is going to receive from Villa fans I can still see Villa cashing in just before the window closes for around 15mill. Just a hunch. When you lose the backing of the fans, you lose everything in one swipe.
