Royston Drenthe

Feyenoord? Is he under the impression that Feyenoord is the type of team which will have the second best player on the team in the first 11?

Why would you want to play someone who causes havoc every time hes on the pitch? Its not like we need goals or anything....

there was a whole piece on Drenthe on Malaysian ESPN tonight, most significant bit for us was that they seemed to be emphasizing that he would like to make his loan permanent. What I found most interesting was the man himself saying that he felt at home here (I think he used the word comfortable), that he was free at the end of this season and,\ "Everton have to decide what they want to do"

Make of that what you will.

get it sorted Moyes you ginger ballbag! if we miss out on a player like that, who would actually consider coming here i may have to go on that killing spree after all.

This is kind of a bummer - Moyes discussing his subs (does he think Roy is still a sub? Really?):

“We’ve needed them. They’ve made impacts. Roy can be better with 20 minutes impact. But he certainly puts the opposition on the back foot and makes them unsure. We just need to use him at the right times at the right places.

"We’ve not talked about getting him permanently at the moment, we’re more concerned with signing a centre half or a centre forward.â€￾

This is not a bummer:
But Moyes says he has done enough to force his way back into the set-up, after scoring a hat-trick for the reserves this week.

He said: “Tollos just dropped off a little bit. He’s only 19 and young boys need to be put back sometimes when their training is not so good.

“He just dropped down a little bit in the last month. Sometimes the boys who come from abroad find Christmas and New Year a bit of a tough period because they’re used to having a couple of weeks’ break at least over Christmas and New Year.

“But his goals in the reserves will have done him a world of good and hopefully he’s back on track.â€￾

Oh do [Poor language removed] off Moyes, he has a load of assists and you insist on persisting with Neville in midfield to accommodate your mates.

As for Velios scoring a hatrick should ensure a few more weeks on the bench

[Poor language removed] right off you ginger prat.

What possible benefit is there to coming out and saying that?

All Drenthe wants is to be valued at a club. Just stop ****ging him off and pushing him away.

to be fair to Moyes, mad Royston looked goosed by the 50th minute against villa and was giving the ball away left right and centre. He was putting us on the back foot! Until his fitness builds up, then impact sub he is. On the other hand, If I were Moyes I'd be giving him every opportunity to build up his fitness...

I think in the main moyes is playing it right with drenthe.

He's clearly not there fitness wise and tbh just the same as fergie does with nani.. Every games not right for drenthe to start.

Eg. At home today against b'burn he'd be one of the first names on my team sheet. However away against a city, utd or Chelsea he'd be a bit of a liability at present and would offer more in the last 20 if we were trying to get something out the game.

You also don't wanna lick his ball bags too much at the moment!?!? We will no doubt wanna sign him on a manageable contract without fighting other clubs off.

There's alot more behind these things than some think. It's not footy manager!!

Oh and in regards to baines:

Ideally when Donovan departs, drenthe would be on the right and we would have signed pienaar or someone simlar to link up on the left with baines.

GOK in the echo this morning reckons Drenthe playing limits Baines, not saying i agree like.

He does on the left. Baines needs a right footer who'll cut in.

It shouldn't be a problem because Drenthe is much better on the right anyway.

But Moyes seems to keep playing him on the left. I don't really get it.

Moyes is an absolute whopper. We knew this anyway. But if he seriously doesn't try to sign Drenthe, a genuine wideman with quality, on a FREE, A FREE DAVID! Then he's lost the plot completely. We really aren't in a position to be choosy.
