Roy Keane criticises Martinez (do one, Roy)

I lost all respect for that gob****e after he made money! admitting he deliberately ended a fellow professional's career. He should never have been allowed a position in the game again.
This s**tstorm is going to make life awkward for two of our best young players! and by igniting a scene from nothing, it may affect their performances and distract them from their day jobs.
Also, the way he arrogantly confronted the referee at Celtic Park begs the question; "HOW DOES THE PRCK GET AWAY WITH IT?"
He didn't end his career though. He ended up retiring because of an injury to his other knee.

Correct, it's often forgotten that Alf-Inge Håland finished that match, played a midweek friendly for Norway (coming off at half-time) and the next league game (coming off in the 68th minute). He THEN had surgery on his other knee and barely played again because of it.

So that's all right then. Keane deliberately stamping on a fellow professionals knee makes him a hero

Rubbish, I'm merely pointing out that the effect of his stamp wasn't as damaging as everyone castigates him for. The stamp in no way ended Alf-Inge Håland game that day let alone his career, a fact that has been lost in the hyperbole.
It was a straight red, and should have been. A couple of years later it would have got a ban for a handful of games as well as it was obviously premeditated.

The Republic of Ireland assistant claimed the midfielder James McCarthy and his team-mate Séamus Coleman were put under pressure by Everton to protect themselves on international duty and that the Merseyside club always gave the impression players were “barely able to walk”. Martínez rejected the accusationsand said nothing was further from the truth.

“It is completely nonsense. We have a good relationship with Martin O’Neill and we keep in touch frequently and share information,” he said. “We are always very proud when our players represent their countries, and the record shows that.

Well Keane loves to stir things up. He enjoys the attention. His mar couldn't give him the attention he needed so he seeks it for all of his life. Sad.

"That comes from a source that's got no. . . I don't know the agenda the person has behind that," said Martinez, "Does that person do it as an ex-player? Does he do it as a fan? Does he do it in his position? Because if the two managers talk it doesn't make much sense for him to do it because of his position. As an ex (Ireland) player we all know what happened." - http://www.independent.ie/sport/soc...e-with-veiled-saipan-reference-30761933.html?
