for me the problem was 100 percent down to a lack of creativity in the centre of the park, things could have gone differently but with that set up we were looking at a draw at best to begin with (control midfield but can't produce anything). once jags went out and our defense looked out of sorts, it was over
 
Just read all this thread, I can clear up a few things. Everyday on the training pitch Moyes is out there with Steve Round, training methods WERE adjusted when Steve Round came in. Just want to point out the fitness levels of the players now compared to when Alan Irvine was coach, the players did different pre season, they did different cardio training and different running methods. The players under the coaching of Irvine where a hell of a lot fitter and also less injuries as per these opta things. As for Steve Round, he has got his pay day so time to move on. Alan Irvine is back at finch farm lets use him.

Not too sure about this. This thread started in November 2008 so I assume Round arrived the previous summer (my memory is shot to hell) I'm pretty sure I've seen some of our best (most attractive football) in those last four years. Not saying Round is the relevant factor in this. Think having players like Arteta, Piennar, Fellaini, Osman, Donovan, Rodwell and Bily in and around the team reduced the hoof element in the team. This along with Distin's arrival at the back.

No wonder all our strikers go sh*t. FFS ROUND OUT!
 

We regularly talk about positions we need to strengthen to take us forwards to a Champs League position but to do so it is also the coaching team we should be enhancing. Stubbs, Weir, Irvine and after this time at the Club all come from the same or similar backgrounds and hence philosophies. I really believe, if DM signs a new contract, he should bring in something new to the coaching team - a foreign coach perhaps like Ferguson did with the Portugese guy not so long back. We have been often been Boss this year in terms of playing flowing footer but have struggled to fully adapt to a more enterprising style leaking silly goals, snatching at chances etc. Bringing someone fresh with a new outlook to build on the level we have gone to is a logical investment to me whilst reinforcing the Squad. And NO I do not have a name I can throw it the mix for consideration but there are plenty more knowledgable than me who I'm sure can offer up some options.
 
I dont know how people can have a go at Round. Unless they are there watching training sessions etc I dont know how they can judge what he does and doesnt do.
 
On the evidence of what he has provided, i.e. what it translates to on the pitch, and while he has been here there have been some very negative performances, very much in the mould of him and the brolly man. This time last year we were playing some of the most dire football that we have in a long time.

I dont really see what thats got to do with him though. The manager picks the team and sets it up at the end of the day.
