Go to an ice hockey game some time, these guys think they are there to create a keep the score close.

Meaning, your team is leading, they won't get a single call in their favour, your team is losing they can cheat their way back into it.

Then, the players take it into their own hands and carnage ensues. A few year years ago one of the leading NHL refs retired and was asked why he didn't call penalties against the league stars "because fans pay to see those guys".

Screw the rules, you can just arbitrarily adjudicate who is famous enough or not to get called.
